Isolino Vaz in memoriam
Portuguese visual artist Isolino Vaz would complete 90 years in upcoming April. Celebrating this date, Rafael was commissioned a piece cycle inspired in his life and work.

Italian mandolin and guitar duo Mauro Squillante and Sante Tursi commissioned Rafael a new piece for their upcoming album dedicated to the music of Southern cultures. To be released under the Digressione Contemplattiva label.

20 Canções para Zeca Afonso, featuring Rafael's arrangements of José Afonso's songs premières in Barcelona a new format, welcoming singer Filipa Pais and percussionist Sebastien Scheriff to the ensemble.

Rafael is now full time guitarist for the Portuguese/Dutch band Quatro Ventos. Continuing more than 15 years of dedication to Portuguese music and culture, the group is now preparing the release of the next studio project.

Rafael's new group guitar lessons class started in January, at the beautiful ABC Treehouse. Every Thursdays, from 19.30h to 21.30h, a class of 8 people gets together to improve its guitar and musical skills and to embrace a more musical life and mind.
