Yesterday we (me and guitarist Eva Aukes) had the pleasure to present Guitarra e Mistério in a private venue, in the Hague. The concert was amazing: a beautiful house, a wonderful host and the most interested (and interesting) international audience - Mexico, Brazil, Portugal, The Netherlands, Italy, Serbia, Spain, France, Iran and USA were some of the represented countries - and it was all tempered by the best Mexican food!
The scenario was idyllic: a small and cozy romantic garden, with blossoming trees, among them the scented magnolia. With an around-40-people audience, we played two sets of music, stopping for about 20 minutes - it was dessert time! Violinist Paul Medeiros joined us for "Our Spanish love song", by Charlie Haden and "Sede", by Carlos Paredes. Like always, Paul's playing was inspired(-ing) and deeply touching. After our presentation, guitarist Otto Cepella shared some of his lovely finger-picked guitar style tunes - and how special it was! Thank you Otto! It was the perfect atmosphere for the Portuguese guitar to sound, for music to be made and, most of all, for people to get together and share - the true and unique reason that gives sense to all the rest! Thank you all for your generosity and friendship!
